VW Scirocco and Passat CC (2011): low CO2 tech

Volkswagen has launched the cleanest and most efficient Scirocco yet. Bluemotion tech is now fitted to the base 2.0-litre turbodiesel and includes stop/start and battery regeneration systems to cut CO2 beneath 120g/km. The six-speed manual Scirocco 138bhp 2.0 TDI now averages 62.8mpg (down from 55.4mpg) while emissions have tumbled to an impressive 118g/km (down from 134g/km).

Mike Ryan does amazing things with the Banks Freightliner. And with Pikes Peak still half a year away, Ryan settles for practice in the Long Beach docks in "Size Matters 2." He weaves the semi in and out of boxes, does donuts in the same tight radius as a matte-black 240SX (driven by stuntman Daniel Leavitt, who ironically shares his name with a reckless driving attorney in Virgina), and dodges even larger trucks. Chevrolet Colorado Rally concept

Chevrolet has announced the second concept that previews the brand's next generation of pickups ahead of its official unveiling at the 5th Buenos Aires Auto Show. Following on from the Colorado concept shown in Bangkok, the Colorado Rally truck takes the basic premise of the first Colorado concept and adds a dose of aggression, with the vehicle gaining increased ride height, chunkier tires and a more prominent under body. Integrated winches, front and rear, convey the truck's off road abilities.
